Inetum and ITI launch ECOMOV, a data space for sustainable mobility in the Valencian Community
Inetum and ITI lead the development of ECOMOV, a secure and interoperable data space connecting public administrations, private companies, and citizens to foster more efficient transport and reduce carbon emissions.
Inetum, a leader in digital services and solutions, and ITI (Instituto Tecnológico de Informática) have announced the launch of ECOMOV, an innovative data space dedicated to sustainable mobility in the Valencian Community.
The project has an investment of over one million euros and is funded through the RETECH (Territorial Networks for Technological Specialization) funds within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, backed by the European Union (NextGenerationEU).
A Collaborative and Secure Ecosystem
ECOMOV was created to overcome information fragmentation in the transport sector, connecting mobility operators (such as Vectalia), public administrations, and citizens.
Through the sovereign and secure exchange of data, the project will:
- Optimize road planning: Design better routes and frequencies based on real traffic and passenger flows.
- Boost intermodality: Facilitate the combination of different public and private transport modes.
- Reduce the carbon footprint: Decrease polluting emissions and improve air quality.
Alignment with European Standards
The data space is being developed in accordance with the principles of the European Gaia-X initiative, as well as the guidelines of the Data Spaces Support Centre (DSSC) and the SIMPL initiative. This guarantees the digital sovereignty of the participants —where each owner maintains full control over the use of their data— and interoperability with other sector-specific data spaces at a European level.
